Mental Health

Mental health is one of the most important things when it comes to

living your day to day lives. The time is now to start bringing more awareness

to mental health and mental health issues. In a recent study, 20% of adults

were experiencing a mental health issue which is equivalent to over 50 million

people (MHA, 2020). Over 50 million people, many of whom do not receive

treatments or care for the issues they are struggling with. It is a sad but true

fact, and there is simply not enough being done for people who have to live

every day with a mental health issue.

There are many mental health issues that come to mind when you hear

those words such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and eating disorders. But let’s

not forget schizophrenia, addictive behaviors, bipolar disorder, dementia, and

more. As you always hear the first ones mentioned, it is important to consider

all mental health issues. You never know what someone is going through, and

all of them are equally as important to one another.

Mental health affects mood, behavior, decision making, and thinking.

Sometimes it can take over our bodies, and force us to choose something we

may not want to. People live with mental health issues every single day, and

you may never even notice it. The time is now to bring awareness to mental

health, and help those who are suffering both out loud and in silence.
